Duties
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Knowledge and Investment advice
- Capricorn Unit Trusts
- Republic of Namibia Treasury Bills
- Republic of Namibia Government bonds
- Selected third party unit trust funds on the Capricorn Investment Platform
- Investment Linked Living Annuities, Retirement Annuities and Preservation funds on all Namibian insurers’ platforms
- Offshore investment options on Sanlam Private Wealth investment platform
- Structured investment products created by Capricorn Asset Management
- Bank Windhoek investment products
Customer Focus
- Build long-lasting and trustful relationships with clients
- Handle any client query and be able to fully assist in client investment needs on all relevant investment or banking systems
- Willingness and ability to commute to client choice of venue and deliver required investment advice there
- Make sure all client information is fed into the FNA and that all details are accurate, make recommendations to client and incorporate into FNA & Recording of advice.
Have the ability to design and implement financial solutions to clients
- Ensure that clients' needs are met at all times by making sure all business units work together as a team
- Make sure to obtain all signed documents from client, e.g. Astute, SLA, Broker change, Advice agreement, Fee structure, Proposal
- Obtain necessary documents for drafting of Wills &Trust Deed
- Explore customers long-term and short-term insurance needs, obtain quotes, provide suitable proposals and implement solutions
General
- Keep up to date with the client's life cycle, birthdays, anniversaries, children, hobbies, business interest, new car, new house, travel, etc
- Retain ownership of customers' request, complaints and applications and keep customer up to date
- Obtain all relevant documents from client, e.g. ID, marriage certificate, etc
- Instruct to prepare Wealth File and maintain our copy of the file
Self-Development
- Be familiar with relevant tools to provide investment advice to enhance investment advice and client understanding
- Be up to date with all relevant legislation, best practices and compliance regulations
- Be up to date with all the information and fine details of CUT funds and CPW products and services
- Be fully aware and up to date of all relevant peer investment options, performance, fees and other critical information
- Have sufficient knowledge on insurance products and services in order to provide general advice and guidance to clients
- Constantly work to improve industry knowledge
- Familiar and high aptitude on various systems including Microsoft Office, Phoenix, Silica, Money Mate and Glacier, Sanport and Sanfin (FNA system)
People Management
- Set clear work objectives and standards for the team - lead by active example
- Manages the team to ensure that work standards and quality work output targets are achieved and maintained
- Establishes appropriate, clear and consistent work measures for the area
- Manages the performance contribution of staff against clear and established measures/ targets
- Recognize and reward outstanding performance
- Identify and manage poor performance (in line with the poor performance code) providing an opportunity for corrective steps to be taken to rehabilitate performance
- Proactively share knowledge, coach and mentor the team
- Identify strengths and weaknesses and provide staff with the appropriate training to improve skills
- Actively build and encourage collaborative team relationships to help accomplish team goals
- Actively support employment equity by utilizing differences to the benefit of the team and customers. Ensure that all team members and customers are treated with equal respect and dignity
- Make sure relationship between Wealth Manger, Private Banker, and STI is in line with wants, needs and expectations of client, it should be consistent
Requisites
- Experience/Knowledge and Skills:
- Be fully informed of all relevant investment product knowledge, availability, performance and current market prices
- Be able to provide clients with a high level of investment advice taking into consideration all available options and client situation, objective(s) and risk tolerance
- Ability to create a suitable investment portfolio for clients in line with CAM and general investment norms
- Draft high quality investment proposals if required in order to generate business
- Be fully informed of relevant market events, overall economic situation and official CAM house view and have the ability to convey that into client advice
- Be able to identify prospective clients, attract and offer them relevant investment options and generate business according to predetermined targets
- Be able to manage and maintain a large book of affluent investors
- Arrange and perform regular check-up/rebalancing sessions with clients regarding their short-term insurance policy in sync with Welwitschia
- Ability to design, create and maintain relevant MIS reports
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience in offering long term insurance advice on both personal and business level
- Be fully aware of the various long term insurance products and offering available in the market
- Be able to deliver a complete financial needs analysis to the affluent individual and related business alike
- Pro-actively identify cross-selling opportunities within existing portfolio of clients and give leads to responsible manager
- 3 years Relevant Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years experience within the Financial Planning Industry
- 3 years Bachelor’s Degree, Post-graduate diploma in Financial Planning and 5 years
- Experience in the Financial Planning Industry
- Preferably a CFP accreditation required
