Warehouse Controller

Description

• An exciting opportunity exists for a Warehouse Controller within the Warehouse Section in the Supply Chain department, reporting to the Specialist Warehouse
• The successful candidate will be responsible to coordinate, control, plan and execute warehouse and logistics activities to ensure effective and quality warehouse and logistics service delivery to ensure departmental objectives are achieved

Duties

• Maintaining HSE standards
• Executing stock control and reconcile all stock items as per standard operating procedure
• Controlling and coordinate activities related to consignment stock on behalf of the supplier
• Liaising with relevant stakeholders to address any variances in the processes. i.e., internal departments, suppliers and or governmental instructions
• Supervising and ensuring that direct reports complete their tasks according to set plans, defines clear priorities to ensure production continuity
• Initiating cost saving ideas aimed at reducing stock holding
• Providing input to relevant line Superintendent/Specialist in compiles a budget for the section
• Recommending improvements to processes and discusses these with other foremen involved in the process

Requisites

• Grade 12
• A recognized National Diploma in Materials or Supply Chain Management NQF Level 6
• A recognized degree in Materials or Supply Chain Management or related field NQF Level 7 & 8 will be an added advantage
• A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience in warehousing and logistics environment of which three (3) years should have been in a supervisory role
• A valid code BE driver’s license
• A Police certificate of conduct of not older than six months is required
• A record will not automatically disqualify candidates
