Ohorongo Cement is recruiting a Transport Coordinator, to be based in Plant Sargberg, between Tsumeb and Otavi, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting to the Executive:
- Sales, Marketing and Logistics, the incumbent will manage transportation for local and export markets, ensuring timely delivery of customer orders
- Key responsibilities include optimizing service delivery through contractor engagement, sourcing logistics providers, and controlling transport costs
- The role also involves identifying cost-effective routes, overseeing customs compliance, and maintaining a focus on efficient operations and timely deliveries
Duties
- Organizing and managing transportation for the local and export market
- Transport planning to ensure timely delivery of customer orders
- Contractors/service providers engagement to ensure optimum service delivery
- Sourcing of logistics service providers
- Ensure optimal utilization of transport services
- Developing supply chain processes to ensure efficient logistics services
- Manage logistics costs
- Identify ideal solutions and routes to customers to achieve desired result and to save costs
- Maintain constant sense of urgency for customer orders
- Assist with loads planning and rail operation
- Responsible for general administration including transport cost reviews
- Overseeing Customs Clearing and Customs / NAMRA compliance and other Statutory compliances
Requisites
- Grade 12, with a degree in logistics or supply chain management
- At least 5 years’ experience in a logistics / supply chain environment
- Supervisory experience will be an advantage
- Computer skills, SAP SD and Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to lead and manage staff
- Ability to work under pressure
- High flexibility
