Description
- We are looking for an early career professional with interest in Digital and Technology transformation of the financial services industry, to transition and grow in the Internal Audit profession
- The audit trainee will gain practical internal audit experience, supported by internal audit-related training and professional development, the opportunity to study towards attaining the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and / or the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification from The Global Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA)
Duties
- Perform Internal Audits in accordance with the Internal audit methodology principles and processes
- Continuously plan, execute, and monitor the process of executing the Internal Audit plan
- Gather and compile the relevant key information and documentation and participate in the audit planning discussions with the relevant business stakeholders
- Prepare system and data diagrams to identify manual and systems process interactions and key controls
- Understand and map key business process control assess the design and operational effectiveness of Application controls and Information Technology General controls
- (ITGCs), Cyber /Information Security controls as well as Data Controls
- Discuss and validate the key control description with the relevant business stakeholders and walkthrough the relevant key control processes
- Identify the key risks and controls that are relevant to the audit scope and assess the adequacy of the control descriptions and prepare the draft Risk and Control matrix
- Gather the relevant business information and reports, analyze the data integrity and trends and select the sample items in accordance with the sampling method
- Draft the audit testing program and evaluate the effective implementation of the key control processes and document the testing outcomes in the working paper file
- Cross-refence sufficient and appropriate audit evidence in the working papers file and draft the preliminary audit issues
- Provide technical support for financial, operational and performance audits
- Establish and maintain professional working relations with all the internal and external stakeholders
- Perform internal quality assurance reviews on audits files to access compliance with internal audit standard and methodology principles
- Continuously monitor audit timelines, milestones and deliverables, update the audit status to the information system and applications
- Assist the preparations of the management and board reports on a periodic basis and perform all administrative /operational tasks related to the internal audit functions
Requisites
- Minimum experience level 1-3 years general banking and / or auditing experience will be an added advantage
