City of Windhoek is recruiting a Town Planner, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To provide a quality town planning service to the City of Windhoek by facilitating, guiding and implementing the development needs of the city to ensure sustainable urban growth, a supply of serviced erven an a quality urban environment for all residents
Duties
- Assess and determine the urban development needs in the different land use categories in the City
- Provide professional town planning services to the Council for reserved and general work
- Guide development in terms of structure, growth direction and policies for land use control
- Coordinate development and perform project management of town planning and upgrading projects
- Promote and endure compliance with Council and National legislation, policies, regulations and procedures on town planning and related urban management concerns
- Perform miscellaneous town planning work
- Promote innovation and research in town planning
Requistes
- B Degree in Town and Regional Planning as promulgated by NCTRP in terms of Act 9 of 1996 with two (2) years job related experience as a Registered Town Planner in training
- Registration as Town Planner with the Namibian Council for Town and Regional Planner and a Code B/BE driver’s license
