Telecom is recruiting a Technical Supervisor: Technical Operations, in Karasburg and Rosh Pinah, Namibia.
Description
- To construct and to maintain local networks as well as to clear faults within the access network as they are delegated to him/her by own line manager, in such a way that minimal downtime occurs
- This requires access network related jobs but also some configuration and alignment with other systems within the network
- Furthermore, to perform preventive maintenance tasks in line with allocated schedules and agreed maintenance routines
- Both corrective and preventive maintenance activities need to be integrated to achieve high levels of efficiency of time application
- Lastly to keep required records and documentation on major activities and state of network

- Fault clearance
- Network security system faults
- Installations
- Cable Works
- Preventative and Predictive maintenance
- Maintenance information & reports
- Maintenance service levels
- Maintenance/work efficiencies
- Financial Performance
- Management of Staff
Requisites
- Minimum of a TE certificate coupled with at least 3 years work experience working independently
- Importantly, should also have a very good knowledge of all access systems of Telecom Namibia
- This position requires working experience within telecommunications industry in Namibia
- Key Knowledge Required:
- Very Good Knowledge of Installations, Decision making, Evaluation, Checking, Jointing, Fault diagnosis, Access network technology, Network Management System, CPE/Product Knowledge, Installation procedures, Jointing techniques and Network security systems
- Key Characteristics:
- Analytical and systematic thinker, with good organising and coordination abilities
- Good practical problem solving abilities at a detail level, with good understanding of interdependencies processes
