Agra is recruiting a Systems Administrator: Digital Auctions, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office - Windhoek
Duties
- Manage Essential Equipment:
- Set up and manage the essential equipment for Digital Auctions, ensuring flawless execution during live events
- Proactively assess the condition of essential equipment and recommend repairs and replacements
- Design and implement internal process improvements, including re-architecting infrastructure for greater scalability and to support the growing needs of the Auctions Business Unit
- Source, install and configure the Auctions and Digital Auctions equipment in alignment with Agra Information Technology standards and the environments within which the Auctions Business Unit operates
- User Support:
- Provide first- and second-line support to end-users on the Auctions Line of Business Applications including the Livestock Management and Auctions systems, the NAMLITS Ear Tag system and the Meat Board Permit System
- Serve as the escalation point for third level and vendor support of the systems
- Ensure that applications supporting the Auctions Business Unit are updated and functioning optimally
- 3rd Party Service Provider Management:
- Proactively engage and manage third party service providers to ensure user and system issues are resolved within agreed service level specifications
- Plan and schedule system changes and upgrades with 3rd parties to ensure availability of resources to optimally track and implement changes
- Implement recommendations received from vendors and auditors to meet requirements for continued support of the systems and equipment used by Agra Auctions
- Ensure Service Level Agreements are in place with all critical 3rd party service providers
- Change Management:
- Perform requirements analyses for all changes requested by the Auctions User Community
- Facilitate and coordinate all testing related to system changes
- Log and track system changes on the Agra IT Service Desk system and motivate the changes for approval
- Reporting and Relationship Management:
- Provide regular reports to stakeholders as it pertains to the overall status of the Agra Auctions Business Unit
- Provide stakeholder updates at agreed intervals on any projects in flight that may impact the Auctions Business Unit
Requisites
- Qualifications & Attributes:
- Namibian citizenship
- A tertiary qualification (In Informatics, Information Systems or Computer Science)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in systems support.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Productivity Tools
- Strong proficiency in Networking Technologies
- Familiarity with PostgresSQL.
- Familiarity with the NAMLITS Livestock Ear tag and Meat Board Permit platforms
- Knowledge of the Namibian Livestock environment would be an advantage
- The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting integration between systems.
- Must be willing & able to travel extensively
- Proficiency in English
- A valid Code 08 driver’s license
