Paratus Namibia is recruiting a Support Technician (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Adhere to Paratus policies, procedures, and operational practices
- Install servers, storage appliances, firewalls, switches, routers, and other hardware
- Help to test and troubleshoot server/network hardware components
- Configure and troubleshoot operating system-related issues
- Resolve technical issues with little to no escalation
- Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Contribute to the availability and performance of mission critical services
- Contribute to efforts and take part in projects for the deployment, maintenance, and support of customer and data center infrastructure across the hardware, networking, and software fields
- Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving critical or escalated technical issues regarding affected infrastructure
- Work as part of a technical team that ensures 24-hour customer support and manage standby responsibilities as needed
- Manage technical relationships with customers
Requisites
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
- 2 years of technical experience deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise systems
- Relevant CompTIA, Microsoft, Fortinet, VMware, or Cisco certifications, and/or IT diploma/degree
- Valid Code B (or higher) driver's license
- Own transport
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, and the ability to collaborate and partner with those teams to overcome challenges
- Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions
- Experience with customer-facing services and migrations and advocating for customer needs
- Understanding of operating systems, computer and server hardware, and networking concepts, tools, and protocols
