Rössing Uranium is recruiting a Specialist: Management Accounting, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
- An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist Management Accounting, reporting to the Manager Finance
- The primary objective of the management accounting team is to provide meaningful reporting and analysis in a timely manner to assist senior management at all levels in their decision-making process
- The Management accounting team is responsible for the co-ordination, consolidations, financial modelling, and analysis of business results for plans and forecasts as well as monthly actual results for the purpose of reporting to the senior management team
- In addition, the team participates in various Finance Projects and ad hoc analysis as required by senior management
Duties
- Maintaining HSE standards with the commitment to reduce injuries and implement HSE improvement plans
- Continuously assess and improve quality
- Supervises and ensures that subordinates complete their tasks according to set plans, defines clear priorities to ensure production continuity
- Ensures that costing is done in line with the relevant standards and performs unit cost analysis by review of the relevant information and highlights areas for concerns and makes improvements recommendations where appropriate
- Coordinates the compilation of the annual budget, maintaining financial models and review of forecasts for management and CNUC head office reporting
- Application of Power BI Tools to assist in the coordinate and review of the monthly management’s reports required by management team
- Compiles a budget and all other areas under the incumbent’s control
- Identifies capital expenditure over a 5-year period and submits request to the direct supervisor
- Monitors expenditure monthly and reviews on a quarterly basis
- Monitors and review expenditure monthly and assist cost centre owners in evaluating for corrective action
- Gives input in the rolling forecast on operational expenses
Requisites
- Grade 12 with twenty (20) points and an E symbol in English
- A recognized bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, or accounting (NQF Level 7/8)
- OR
- A recognized National Diploma in finance, commerce, or accounting (NQF Level 6)
- Bachelor’s degree: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Accountant in a management accounting environment of which three (3 years should have been in a supervisory/specialised level
- National Diploma: A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a management accounting environment of which five (5) years should have been in a supervisory/specialised level
- CIMA/CA will be an advantage
- Experience in the application of Power BI is an advantage
- A valid Code B driver’s licence
- A Police certificate of conduct of not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates

- Computer skills (MS Office (PowerPoint/ Excel) SAP and Power BI
