National Housing Enterprise is recruiting a Site Agent, to be based in Windhoek & Oshakati, Namibia.
Description
  • Projects and will ensure delivery of affordable houses by scheduling, monitoring and coordinating the construction of houses from pretender to completion
  • Location: Head Office, Windhoek (1x) & North Branch, Oshakati (2x)
  • Job Grade: C5
Duties
  • Project Oversight:
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of all tasks, including Project Feasibility Studies and Planning
  • Safety Management:
  • Implement and enforce company requirements and legal regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
  • Resource Management:
  • Manage equipment and materials required for the project, including the identification of site establishment needs, placing orders, inspections, and maintaining necessary paperwork
  • Budget Management:
  • Manage the budget and expenditures to ensure the project stays within financial constraints
  • Schedule Coordination:
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the work of all site operatives to ensure timely project completion
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Manage supervise Construction Foreman/Lady, Contractors, and subcontractors, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct inspections and quality control measures to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure operational efficiency
  • Reporting:
  • Provide regular progress reports to project management, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges
Requisites
  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of construction laws, SABS; building regulations; labour and Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of management of multiple construction sites
  • Knowledge of construction material and methods
  • Knowledge of Contract Law
  • Skills and Behavioural Competencies:
  • Ability to read drawings and
  • Planning & analytical skills

  • Negotiation and problem skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • National Diploma/ Degree (Civil Engineering or Construction Management or Project Management) or equivalent
  • 5 Years in the building industry of which 3 years are in construction supervision and contract law
