Debmarine Namibia is recruiting a Service Desk Coordinator, to be based in Oranjemund, Namibia.
Description
- Debmarine Namibia requires the services of an IM Service Desk Co-ordinator
- The successful incumbent will coordinate and manage the end-point service delivery that will enable, support and improve the IT customer service by integrating applications, technology services and processes into business improvement initiatives
Duties
- Utilizes appropriate tools and techniques to accurately measure, estimate, and plan projects while maintaining awareness of current and future service commitments
- Co-ordinates and supervises all tasks concerning the installation and maintenance of hardware and software
- Utilizes software and monitoring tools to maintain awareness and control of IT hardware, software and infrastructure
- Identifies and rectifies operational exceptions and error conditions and deals with unexpected events or incidents
- Investigates operational issues, monitors utilization and capacity of current and proposed systems, and analyses infrastructure and network health to recommend enhancements
- Participates in system performance reviews and assist with planning upgrades
- Recommends and handles enquiries relating to IT security, contingency planning and related activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
- Resolves all user requests and complaints efficiently and professionally, and ensures requests for services are properly logged, assigned and responded to
- Maintains documentation and participates in audits and compliance activities
- Manages and supervises subordinates for optimum utilization
Requisites
- Grade 12
- Relevant National Diploma in IT
- Systems administration certificate in MCSE, DELL and Cisco will be advantageous
- 5 years’ experience as a Technical Support Technician (or market equivalent) which includes two years supervisory experience
- 2 years exposure to an IT service environment
