Swakop Uranium is recruiting a Senior Officer: Security (m/f), to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Duties
- To implement and optimize protection services by applying security policies and procedures within the security framework, and ensure integration, system integrity and control as well as synergy with the functions of Uranium/Asset security and control for ultimate protection of Swakop Uranium assets and property
- Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure that all security equipment and systems operate at maximum efficiency and availability
- Co-ordinate radio link maintenance and repairs
- Provide input into procedures to ensure it remains applicable and in line with best practices and services the needs of the mine
- Extract and interpret security reports
- Determine additional surveillance operations and optimal placement for maximum potential required to enhance security measures
- Conduct reviews of data, video material or reports generated by the system
- Monitor the management of and responses to alarms recorded by the system
- Determine access authorization levels within the system hierarchy for the various operators
- Co-ordinate first line maintenance and repairs to product detectors
- Stay abreast of other areas of work and potential applications for Security systems
- Perform prevention, detection and investigation of crime
- Ensure that problem areas are identified as risks, assessed, and reported
- Update and maintain technical Risk profiling
- Conduct security awareness training to all new and existing employees
- Ensure correct and timeous issuing of access cards as per standard operation procedures
- Maintain an effective security recording and administration and filing system
- Coordinate all plans and reports on progress of security related projects
- Assess Contractor performance and complete the agreed measure of effectiveness report
Requisites
- Grade 12
- Degree in Security Risk Management or equivalent qualification
- 5 years’ security operational experience within the mining industry of which 2 years should have been on a supervisory level
- Train the Trainer certification
- Police Clearance Certificate not older than 6 months with no Criminal Record and an element of dishonesty
- Valid Code C Driver’s License
