Senior Maintenance Planner

Description

• The incumbent is responsible for developing and compiling CENORED’s core asset base maintenance philosophy, practices and associated systems, co-ordinate and maintain the implementation thereof and to ensure the low and medium voltage network’s capability, reliability and availability for the greatest operating profit, while adhering to Electricity Safety Code (NESC) Namibian Electricity Safety Code
• PATTERSON GRADE: C4

Duties

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical distribution assets
• Utilize SAP ERP for maintenance planning, update asset on the system, tracking, and reporting
• Conduct site inspections and provide hands-on technical support for network maintenance
• Identify recurring faults, analyse asset performance, and recommend reliability improvements
• Allocate tasks to maintenance teams and supervise contractor activities
• Ensure compliance with NESC, SANS, and SHEQ safety regulations
• Manage maintenance budgets and generate performance reports
• Develop and optimize maintenance strategies to enhance asset lifespan and reliability
• Ensure quick turn-around of equipment maintenance and repair to reduce costs and ensure continuous electricity supply
• Provide inputs and support in preparing annual budgets and control expenditure within approved parameters, budget and financial policies and procedures
• Plan and recommend provision of funds for major expenditure (capital and working cost suspense)
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers to remain abreast of improvements or potential problem-solving initiatives
• Interprets Business Unit work processes and requirements and develop and compile CENORED’s Asset Management philosophy and practices to achieve overall goals and objectives
• Establish, implement & maintain CMMS to keep equipment in the condition to reliably deliver full design duty and sustain electricity supply.
• Responsible to maintain accurate equipment and test tool maintenance history and job records
• Effectively plan shutdown and outages utilising standardised maintenance management strategies in conjunction with systems control
• Provide inputs and compile specifications on maintenance management systems implementation, network electrical equipment reviews
• Develop new and improve existing maintenance systems to improve technical competence, resource allocation, maintenance plans & standards, project control and information reliability
• Determine and develop strategies by which long term maintenance plans can be translated into operational plans and schedules for implementation by the respective sections
• Monitor and evaluate maintenance system performance by implementing audits, comparing and evaluating results / statistics and initiating corrective

Requisites

• National Diploma: Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6)
• Four 4 years Maintenance experience
• MV and LV distribution systems: Minimum four (4) years
• Code: B Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
