Description
- Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Senior Human Resources Officer: Operations
- The primary role of this position is to provide a generalist Human Resources service to all employees and line/staff management functions within the Company
Duties
- Implements recruitment, selection and onboarding processes, taking into account best media resources, appropriate skills and culture fit to the Company’s operations
- Coordinates effective on-boarding and/or termination of employees’ service contracts when required
- Addresses, resolves, re-directs or follows up on queries from internal employees and/or line management as well as external customers
- Monitors movements of employees to and from vessels in respect of vessels staffing
- Coordinates and ensures compliance with safe staffing requirements as laid out by marine law
- Recommends alignment of safe manning requirements to new legislation
- Coordinates all logistical requirements for staff movements in consultation with shipboard management
- Monitors medical anomalies and reports them to the HR Superintendent: Operations for further actions if required
- Ensures validity of statutory documents of all sea-gong employees
- Provides sound ER advice and guidance to both employees and line management
- Participates in the effective compilation of recruitment and ER month-end reports and the analysis thereof, for further decision-making purposes
- Analyses data in respect of the recruitment and staffing of employees as well as employees disciplinaries and grievances, using the appropriate technology and methods, and recommend appropriate action/interventions to the HR
- Superintendent: Operations and/or ER Manager
- Manages SAP HR data accuracy with regards to recruitment, employee relations, employee medicals and statutory documents and reports and take action on any incorrect data and/or deviations from Company data and process policies and procedures
- Engages any relevant stakeholders on matter of mutual concern where appropriate in the execution of duties
- Acts as advisory source to line management related to the recruitment, vessels legal staffing and employee relations functions
Requisites
- Degree in Human Resources Management:
- Five (5) years HR related experience of which 2 years should include experience at a supervisory level
- Sound knowledge of Namibian Labour Legislation
- Knowledge of SAP operating system will be an added advantage
