Senior Financial Accountant (m/f)

Description

• The positive growth at MTC, Namibia’s leading telecommunications company, now warrants appointment in this vacancy
• The successful candidate will be responsible to control and manage the Dealer, Inventory & assets, Accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial accounting functions for accurate and complete financial reporting to Management

Duties

• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of reconciliations from incumbents
• Supervision and Control of Dealer Accounting function to ensure proper credit risk management and to maintain limited risk exposure
• Supervision and control Mobilehome Accounting and Accounts Receivable Accounting function to manage risk of loss and fraud
• Supervision and control Inventory and Assets function to ensure that stock and assets are accurately recorded in the financial records
• Supervise and Control Accounts Payable functions to ensure accurate, complete and well managed supplier debt is maintained
• Make sound recommendation with information at hand for reporting and approval by Manager Finance
• Provide external audit support to ensure MTC complies to relevant statutory requirements
• Responsible for development of staff and on the job training to ensure a well-managed and highly functional team

Requisites

• Degree in Accounting, 3 years
• Professional Qualification would be an advantage (eg ACCA, NIPA)
• Completed articles with an audit firm
• Minimum 7 years’ experience, with at least 2 years at supervisory level
• Ability to supervise people
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret rules and guidelines logically
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be a Namibian citizen or have permanent residency
