Swakop Uranium is recruiting a Senior Engineer: Mining, to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
  • To ensure the continuous functionality of the Mining Department’s fleet management systems by upholding, maintaining and supporting operational and technical teams with integral real-time data for optimizing Mining operations and achieving set targets
Duties
  • Ensure functionality, integrity and speed of SQL Reports and other Fleet Management reporting services
  • Conduct regular data flow audits from all applications to respective databases and/or other applications for both SU & business partners to ensure accuracy & integrity
  • Manage third Party interfaces (Scanners, Blending & Fatigue) and ensure functionality to support operations
  • Streamline processes of data or database integration to ensure timeous & correct data deliverance of Month-end Report
  • Enforce & maintain the General Fleet Management, Change Management Work Instruction, to ensure all changes are tracked and maintained
  • Ensure the functionality of all Fleet Management Applications and that continuity of these are adhered to by all relevant support sections & stakeholders
  • Ensure all Dispatch personnel & stakeholders are trained on relevant applications & their respective uses
  • Plan & oversee the installation and repair of Fleet Management Hardware components
  • Ensure MineCare data is structured in SQL in systematic & understandable formats, to aid in analysis of problematic equipment
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of O4R framework with Mining operational teams to ensure equipment reliability
  • Assist management with data compilation during incident / accident investigations
Requisites
  • BSc / B. Tech degree in Mining Engineering
  • NQF Level 7
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in open pit mining environment of which 2 years should be in supervisory capacity
  • Experience in truck, shovel loading & hauling operations
  • Excellent understanding and experience in fleet management & dispatch / control room management in hard rock open pit mining operations
  • Experience in database management is an added advantage
  • Modular Dispatch level 2 Certification
  • Registration with Engineering Council of Namibia, will be an advantage
  • Open Pit Blasting Certificate is an added advantage
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License
