Senior Accountant: Life (SAL)

Description

• To provide efficient accounting and book keeping skills as part of the Finance team
• The role will report to the Financial Manager: Life
• The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently as this role will serve as support for the Financial Manager

Duties

• Ensure financial information is received timeously
• Oversee the daily and monthly accounting functions
• Recording and reconciling of financial information
• Performing yearly audits
• Preparing and submitting of NAMFISA and Bank of Namibia Returns
• Preparing of Stamp duties returns
• Cession posting and returns
• Processing of transactions
• Preparing and submitting of Withholding tax
• Preparing of NASRIA payment
• Assisting with Management accounts and any other Regulatory returns
• Ad hoc duties

Duties

• Matric (25 points or more)
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a financial environment
• Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite packages
• Experience working with Accounting Software’s such as Sage, Pastel, etc

Requisites

• Minimum Requirements, Knowledge and Experience:
• Business degree or similar insurance qualification
• RE and FAIS compliance
