Duties

• Key areas of responsibility:
• Delivering safety inductions on site and other relevant safety training within the business
• Review the safety training programs, procedures and policies ensuring continuous improvement
• Responsible for and assisting in the review, implementation and ensuring adherence to all safety standards and procedures
• Conduct safety inspections and assist the line management in proactively identifying and managing at risk behavior
• Provide support in Safety Risk Management through participating in and/or conducting Safety Risk Assessments
• Conduct site safety audits and compile reports
• Ensure all safety incident investigations and reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner, according to relevant statutory legislation and Company procedures
• Undertake safety reporting and administrative requirements
• Attend and conduct daily pre-start and tool box meetings
• Attend and participate in regular safety meetings

Requisites

• COMSOC or Samtrac qualification
• Internal Auditing Course
• Minimum 5 years as Safety Officer in a mining environment
• Fire Fighting qualification advantage
• Hygiene Experience advantage
• OSHAS experience advantage
• ISO experience advantage
