Risk Officer (m/f)

Description

• Reporting to the Senior Risk & Ethics Officer, the Risk Officer is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Operational Risk Policy, including identifying, analyzing and assessing operational risks, the treatment/mitigation of risks, including business continuity planning and monitoring of the review of policies, business processes and procedures, and supporting initiatives towards creating risk awareness

Duties

• Implement the Operational Risk Plan, by providing administrative assistance in monitoring Risk and Compliance strategic initiatives aimed at implementing and embedding the ERM Framework
• Implement and facilitate an operational risk-based assessment programme or ad hoc projects in the business units, providing input and guidance with respect to all risk related queries
• Coordinate and attend all business units’ departmental meetings and update the risk information tools, Risk
• Registers, Audit Finding Trackers, etc. and produce relevant reports to the Senior Risk and Ethics Officer and the internal management committees
• Identify, analyze and assess operational risks, including investigating operational risk incidents, maintaining business unit Operational risk registers, monitoring the application of control activities and strategies, conducting process risk assessments and continuously monitoring the operational risk management strategies for relevance and effectiveness
• Monitor and maintain the Audit Finding Tracker and report progress on the Business Units’ Risk Register Mitigation Action
• In executing Business Continuity Management, provide administrative assistance, guidance and advice to business units, offer professional input, coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning, test responsiveness and communicate to all relevant stakeholders
• Coordinate and provide administrative assistance in risk awareness initiatives, including developing training material, drafting communication to internal stakeholders, in order to embed a risk management culture in the Bank
• Execute, monitor and report on the implementation and activities of the Information Security Management Program
• Operate and maintain the ethics advice helpdesk and provide relevant and accurate data for reporting ethics performance to the Senior Risk and Ethics Officer

Requisites

• A relevant Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) from an accredited tertiary institution
• An Occupational Risk Practitioners registration would be an added advantage
• A minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in a commercial environment
• Registration as an ORP and/or membership of IRMSA would be an advantage
• Sound communication skills (verbal and written)
• Sound interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork
• Attention to detail and sound information analysis and evaluation skills
• A proactive approach to work and problem solving
• Sound customer orientation
