Plant Foreman (m/f)

Sperrgebiet is recruiting a Plant Foreman (m/f), to be based in Luderitz, Namibia.
Duties
  • Manages people, equipment and other resources in such a way as to eliminate potential for incidents
  • Ensures short-term production, availability, utilization and equipment throughput targets are met consistently
  • Aggressively manages direct cost of production, ensures efficiency targets and budgets are improved continually, and achieved
  • Remedial measures taken to correct any production constraint by deploying appropriate resources on shift
  • Ensures process performance is continually optimized within given parameters/ constraints on shift
  • Deploys personnel to ensure a multi-skilled workforce who can address situational needs across entire plant, optimizes productivity through coaching/ motivating and development
  • Training of people on all operational and functional areas
  • Roll out to subordinates all company policies, procedures and strategies
  • Ability to write short technical reports will be an added advantage
Requisites
  • Well experienced person with a proven track record and strong leadership skills
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience in a mining process plant operation of which a minimum of 5 years were in a supervisory capacity
  • Plant commissioning will be an added advantage
  • Incumbent to show initiative and practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • NOSA (SAMTRAC) and ISO 14001 competence will be an advantage
  • Code BE Driver’s License essential
  • Computer Literacy essential (MS WORD and EXCEL experience required)
  • Namibian Citizen preferred
