Kelp Blue is recruiting an OPS Support Manager, to be based in Lüderitz, Namibia.
Description
  • We are seeking a dedicated and resourceful individual to join our team as a Deputy Operations Manager
  • This role will primarily support the Operations Manager in overseeing various operational functions including procurement, contract management, quality control, inventory management, internal logistics & warehousing, fabrication & assembly, and maintenance of assets
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Duties
  • Procurement:
  • Develop procurement strategies for cost-effective acquisition
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors
  • Contract Management:
  • Manage contracts with suppliers and vendors
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance
  • Quality Control:
  • Implement quality control procedures for product reliability
  • Conduct inspections and address quality issues
  • Inventory Management:
  • Optimize stock levels and inventory accuracy
  • Conduct audits and plan replenishment strategies
  • Internal Logistics and Warehousing:
  • Manage material handling, storage, and distribution
  • Optimize warehouse layout and workflow
  • Fabrication & Assembly:
  • Supervise fabrication and assembly processes
  • Collaborate for efficiency and quality adherence
  • Maintenance of Assets:
  • Ensure optimal performance and longevity of assets
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and repair activities
Requisites
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Qualifications in relevant technical fields, coupled with the relevant experience, will also be considered
  • Proven experience in operations management, min. 3 years of experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of procurement & contract management processes, inventory management techniques, and warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices for vehicles, vessels, and buildings
  • Proficiency in using relevant software applications for inventory management and operations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Driver’s license
