Hollard is recruiting a Motor & General Claims Assessor, to be based in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Duties
- Main function of the Role:
- The assessor will be responsible for all related functions including but not limited to claim assessments, establishing cover in terms of the policy, calculating claims quantum as well as arranging repairs. Regular feedback should also be given to clients and brokers
- Key Performance Areas of the Role:
- Identify whether further investigation of a claim is required
- Provide customer services in line with quality and performance standards expected.
- Interview or correspond with claimant, witnesses or any other party
- Inspect property damage to determine extent of damage
- Sourcing market related quotes for repairs.
- Determine value at risk.
- Apply varying methods of investigation according to type of insurance, claim and incident.
- Negotiate claim settlements with brokers or clients
- Compiling reports providing clear and accurate information about the extend of damage and quantum
- Perform any other related tasks as required by an assessor
- Manage repair process and ensure an end to end facilitation, from point of conducting assessment including establishing a fair and reasonable repair cost, to quantifying additionals and further managing and auditing final repair costing, to ensure financials are in order
- Protect Hollard from being over exposed from a risk management point of view by making underwriting recommendations
- Maintain agreed levels of average repair costs
Requisites
- Minimum requirements, knowledge and experience:
- Matric (25 points or more)
- Relevant qualification in the short-term industry will be advantageous
- Two years experience in the field of insurance assessing
- Knowledge of commercial and personal short-term insurance
- Valid Driver’s license is essential
- Must be willing to travel
- Must have knowledge of vehicle body and mechanical repair work and damage
- Must have basic knowledge of construction related to maintenance
- Other skills required:
- Must be an honest and reliable person
- Must have good negotiation skills
- Must be able to work and communicate with people
- Must be prepared to work under pressure
- Must be fluent in English
- Computer literate in MS Office
