Namwater is recruiting a Manager: Water Treatment Services, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To manage, supervise, and coordinate the development, design, optimization, retrofitting, and chemical application for current and new NamWater Water Treatment Plants (which include conventional potable water treatment, seawater and brackish water desalination plants, and wastewater disposal units) to ensure the cost-effective supply of the best-quality water to the satisfaction of all customers

Duties
- Manage contracts and consultants, payments and quality control
- Management of capital and operational budgets
- Ensure cost-effectiveness of water treatment related issues
- Management of customer service
- Manage, optimise, supervise and co-ordinate water treatment related aspects to meet requirements and ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Have excellent expertise in the development, design, simulations, optimisation, retrofitting, and chemical specifications and application for current and new water treatment plants
- Manage and oversee the development and upgrade of new and current Water Works, including supervising consultants and contractors
- Compilation, review, and evaluation of bid documents and assist in procurement of appropriate chemicals and equipment for water supply schemes
- Ensure efficiency in designing, implementing, adapting new technologies, operating, and maintaining water treatment plants, including carrying out water treatment plant audits
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements on water quality and wastewater disposal
Requisites
- Minimum Requirements, Qualifications & Experience:
- BSc/B Eng./B Tech Honours in Chemical Engineering/ or related – NQF Level 8
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with Namibia Engineering Council or similar bodies
- Minimum nine (9) years relevant experience, three (3) years on a supervisory level
- Legal Requirements:
- Driver’s License Code B
