Nedbank is recruiting a Manager: Financial Operations, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The objective is to provide efficient service, ensuring compliance to all banking procedures and policies, Control and Manage Cost and ensuring optimal workflow between departments without incurring unmanageable risks
- The Incumbent will be responsible for the finance operations of the Bank: Expenses, Creditors, Payroll, Fixed Assets and Taxation
Duties
- Manage expenditure to ensure that controllable costs and operational costs are within budget
- The incumbent will be responsible for the Bank’s expenditure by monitoring, and ensuring all costs are contained and verified and reporting any variances
- Manage and control all Accounts payable
- Ensure that fixed assets and accounts payable are appropriately accounted for the Bank’s balance sheet
- Ensure all expenses are accounted for appropriately on the Bank’s income statement
- Prepare monthly financial results and provide EXCO with meaningful information relating to operating expenses
- Prepare board submissions relating to operating expenses, Capex and taxation
- Build and maintain collaborative business relationships and have an understanding of the business strategy and operations through ongoing engagement with stakeholders
- Preparation of annual budgets relating to operations and monthly tax calculations
- Ensure accurate and complete tax accounting and reporting by implementing and ensuring adherence to the necessary processes and controls
- Identify possible risk areas through compliance tracking
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank
- Maintain a high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created
Requisites
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- Preferred Qualification
- Chartered Accountant
- Minimum Experience Level:
- Completed Articles and at least 2 years experience on manager level
- Experience in a banking environment will be an added advantage.
- Advance knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
