Bokomo is recruiting a Manager Employee Relations, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting to the Human Resources Executive the position will be responsible for managing employee relations activities while also promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment
- The Employee Relations Manager collaborates closely with HR professionals, department managers, legal advisors to ensure compliance with- Namibia employment laws and company policies
Duties
- Responsible for Industrial Relations activities including handling disciplinary cases and advising management on best practices
- Offer expert advice in all matters relating to collective bargaining and industrial relations issues
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and programs to enhance workplace morale and satisfaction
- Support in addressing conflicts that arise in the workplace, striving to resolve them in a positive manner that facilitates resolution for all parties
- Proactively providing guidance/training to Managers at all levels, employees and other HR stakeholders on the review, interpretation and dispositioning of matters relating to HR policies and procedures
- Engage in negotiations and settlement discussions to reach mutually agreeable resolutions
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the dispute resolution process
- Collaborate with legal counsel, as necessary, to address complex labour-related issues
- Mediate discussions between management and union representatives to reach amicable solutions
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
- Monitor changes in labour legislation and update company policies accordingly
- Represent the organization in labour disputes, arbitration, and legal proceedings
- Providing guidance and coaching to managers of all levels to address employee behaviour and performance
Requisites
- Qualification and Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial relations, labour relations, or a related field
- Experience in collective bargaining, conflict resolution, and labour law compliance
- Degree in Industrial Relations/Human Resources Management or any other relevant qualifications
- Excellent negotiation and communications skills
- Excellent Inter-personal relations
- Computer literate in relevant systems
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Namibia labour law, and other employment related regulations
- Excellent negotiation and mediation skills
- Experience in collective bargaining, conflict resolution, and labour law compliance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proactively analyze and resolve problems
