NAMWATER is recruiting a Manager Civil Design, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- To manage the design of Civil Related Bulk Water Supply Infrastructure and offer support to the Maintenance and Water Supply division on all civil related infrastructure in the water supply value chain at NamWater to ensure continuity of bulk water supply operations
- Key Performance Areas:
- Develop Project (infrastructure) and Cost Centre cost budget
- Manage contract payments consultants
- Manage consultants and contractor relationships
- Manage Construction of water infrastructure
- Planning of the Operations of the Sub-Division
- Produce preliminary proposal for infrastructure or remedial measures on infrastructure
- Complete infrastructure design or proposal
- Adhere to company policy and legislation
- Manage infrastructure design processes and procedures
- Review compilation and evaluation of Bid documents
- Manage Dam Safety Programme
- Design and integrate the development process and technical procurement process
- Manage construction by contractors of water infrastructure
- Ad hoc
Requisites
- Minimum Requirements:
- BSc/B Eng. in Civil Engineering Level 8
- 6 years relevant experience
- Driver’s License Code B
- Registered as a Professional Engineer
- Competencies, Skills and Abilities
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D) and professional analysis and design software (e.g. PROKON)
- Communication Skills
- Knowledge of codes, SANS/International standards
- Experience as a design engineer in the field of water engineering
- Exposure to other relevant Civil Engineering disciplines as well as a reasonable knowledge of other engineering fields
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good reporting skills
