Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Manager: CIB Operations, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Responsible for effective management of the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) operations to ensure efficient delivery of the Banks Products and Services to the clients
  • Responsible for leading, coaching and developing operations team towards achieving business, professional and personal development objectives, as well as driving the Customer Value Proposition (CVP) by providing operational support to various divisions within CIB and the Bank at large
Duties
  • Business Strategy and Market Understanding:
  • Contribute to client administration and CIB operations strategy formulation, bringing to bear market knowledge, competitor analysis and trade flows
  • Support Relationship Managers in driving and executing the Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and activities aimed at optimising both customer experience and profitability for the Bank.
  • Continually recommend improvements and adaptations to existing systems, processes and structures to ensure current and future viability of CIB. Monitor and assess activities of the competitors to proactively satisfy and retain clients
  • Identify new sales and business development opportunities
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities and follow up on cross selling or marketing opportunities. Must refer CIB product leads to Relationship Managers and/or Sector Team Leads while actively pre-empting and follow up on transactional needs and leads.
  • Ensure awareness of the strategy of the Bank and how the vision and objectives of CIB support this
  • Keep abreast with and understand the activities of the traditional and non-traditional competitors and the impact these have on CIB’s relationship with the clients
  • Ensure understanding of clients existing needs and expectations
  • Overall accountable to ensure resolution on all client queries and requests
  • Routine Administration:
  • Manage and administer day-to-day functions of CIB in line with the CIB’s strategic plans
  • Create and implement innovative methods in banking administration aspects
  • Responsible for drafting of collateral documents and ensuring adherence to banks policies in terms of vetting thereof
  • Ensure perfection of collateral before disbursing loans and implementing limits
  • Responsible for implementation of loans and limits
  • Responsible to ensure all non-interest income is correctly recovered
  • Responsible for written correspondence to clients, branches, dealers and Head Office regarding daily administration and securities
  • Responsible for checking, controlling and regulation of system reports to ensure that compliance to Regulations and Policies are maintained
  • Ensure timeous completion and delivery of reports to Head Office Credit and other various stakeholders
  • Ensure that reporting of CIB reconciliations as per finance requirements and balancing of Office and General Ledger Accounts are completed and delivered to Head Office Finance as per requirements
  • Responsible for achieving 100% assessment upon auditor reviews
  • Responsible for sales fulfilment of channels, transactions and lending
  • Responsible to ensure files for sales fulfilment are in the right standard as per enhanced due diligence, customer due diligence, etc
  • Responsible to ensure files are complete and correct when handed over to branches
  • Responsible to ensure CIB customer queries are dealt with timeously and accurately
  • Ensure completion of facility letters and security documents in line with the Banks documented timelines
  • Ensure all CIB employees adhere to the procedure and operations manuals
  • Assist the Head: Corporate Overage to ensure consistency delivering the Banks products and services to customers
  • Financial Management:
  • Assist the Head: Corporate Overage in preparing annual and expenditure budgets
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of internal controls with regard to the expenditure budget
  • Ensuring effective and efficient cost recovery according to prescriptions and laid down procedures
  • Maintenance of Office Equipment:
  • Ensure effective and efficient utilization, control and maintenance of office equipment, as well and safe keeping of asset registers
  • Ensure that the general office environment of CIB is neat and tidy in liaison with other stakeholders
  • Customer service:
  • Ensure that clients are always communicated with in a friendly and professional manner
  • Build customer relationships through best banking practices
  • Assist and support banking staff in handling customers’ requests and needs.
  • Sell banking products and services to customers
  • Organize all databases relating to customers
  • Ensure that there is a continuous liaison process between clients, and the Bank to ensure that service levels are upheld i.e. conduct monthly voice of the customer surveys consistently improving on how we operate at CIB department (reduce cost to serve and increase customer satisfaction)
  • People Management:
  • Ensure that the department is appropriately staffed with experienced and skilled staff
  • Responsible for providing long term strategic direction to the team
  • Responsible for coaching staff and knowledge sharing on a continuous basis
  • General:
  • Willing to perform any other reasonable and lawful duties assigned by the management
Requisites
 
  • Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of Products, services, external environment, market and products of competitors
  • Knowledge of the system and processing activities –
  •     Credit administration and execution
  •     Collateral Management
  •     New to bank onboarding,
  •     Additional account onboarding specifically in non – personal customer segment
  • Professional image and grooming
  • Self-confident and interpersonal skills
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar environment of which a minimum of 2 years should be on Management level
  • Experience in Corporate and Institutional Banking will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate, Analytical skills, Product knowledge
  • Superior communications skills and ability to communicate at customers executive/CEO/Board Level
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Commerce Degree or equivalent (preferably in Business Management or Accounting)
  • A post graduate qualification in Operations Management, Financial Analysis will be an added advantage
