Nedbank is recruiting a Manager: ALCO, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To ensure optimal balance sheet shape, mix and portfolio tilt, thereby maximizing shareholder value within acceptable risk appetite, through strategic balance sheet management and monitoring of liquidity risk, capital management, and interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and FX risk
Duties
  • Manage the ALCO reporting process: Compilation of the ALCO pack, facilitation of monthly ALCO meetings, and compilation of ALCO submissions to Board
  • Maintain and update of ALCO charter and related policies (including the Liquidity Risk Contingency Plan) and ensure implementation of and compliance to those policies
  • Ensure capital, liquidity and interest rate risk tolerances are optimized, approved and monitored
  • Strategic liquidity risk management, including monitoring the liquidity & funding, identification & mitigation of concentration risk, maintenance of Liquidity Models & related assumptions, compilation and monitoring of the Funding Plan
  • Strategic capital management & optimization of the bank, including compilation & monitoring of the capital plan, capital structuring, capital allocation, motivate, and oversee capital raising
  • Optimal management of interest rate risk in the banking book, including monitoring on and off balance sheet hedging, maintenance of the IRRBB model and assumptions
  • NII & net interest margin optimization and analytics, including matched maturity funds transfer pricing
  • Positioning the bank for Basel III (LCR and NSFR) implementation
  • Management, coordination and compilation of annual ICAAP & Recovery Plan reports, championing these across the bank and into ALCO, EXCO and Board levels. This includes overseeing stress testing of capital, liquidity and operational risk
  • Ensuring deadlines are strictly met
Requisites
  • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
  • Preferred Qualification:
  • Must have completed Matric 25 points and a Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant
  • Minimum Experience Level:
  • Must have 5 (five) years experience in Banking or Financial Services experience
  • Experience in banking and/or financial services industry an advantage
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
