Wilderness is recruiting a Management & System Support Trainer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting into Hospitality Support Manager
- Management & Systems Support provides leadership, training and support to camp management and Namibia Travel Shop
- Responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of training methods for the continuous growth and induction of all employees
- Ensure that companies training standards and strategy is relevant and in line with that of the group
- Identify and analyze the training needs through camp visits, observation, conferring with teams, guest feedback / NPS reports and service reports
Duties
- Drive innovative learning program and development through the facilitation of practical skills training, soft skills training, leadership development, online resources, training toolkits, and mentorship/learnership programs
- Prepare and manage a realistic training schedule, goals, objectives, systems and measurement thereof
- Responsible for leading and development of camp management, the systems, content, support materials, implementation, tracking and feedback of/on these initiatives to the business
- Focus on prioritizing employee wellbeing and growth, emphasizing empowerment and equality in order for each person to exceed their own and guest expectations and enable service excellence
- Work closely with Namibian Academy of Tourism and Hospitality (NATH) and Namibian Training Authority (NTA)
- Deliver meaningful and useful support to the lodges, including induction and on-boarding of all new employees as well as continuous technical skills and soft skills training for existing managers and employees
- Coordinate all relevant training i.e. First Aid, Firefighting, Maintenance and Vehicle in collaboration with departmental managers/ service providers
- Admin training to all managers in camp, ensuring that they understand the admin and system functions within the camps
- Admin & System training to all junior and new consultant
- Attend product/branding training conducted by the group training/marketing for junior and new consultants, relevant to Namibia
- Identify areas of difficulty and arrange appropriate training intervention
- Report on/manage training reports and update the trained-staff list after every course or visit to the camps on a monthly basis
Requisites
- Hospitality management diploma or equivalent
- Diploma in education/training – postgraduate degree would be an added advantage
- Solid experience in the high-end, luxury safari hospitality market
- Minimum 5 years proven track record in management practice and high end eco-tourism lodge product involvement
- 3 years proven track record in overseeing training and employee development
- Knowledge of all Wilderness systems, departments and brands
- Engaging, visionary and inspiring leadership qualities, collaborative, innovative and creative, passionate and energetic, self-motivated
- Influential, ability to motivate and direct teams for excellence

- Ability to manage diversity in terms of gender, sociocultural diversity
