- Komatsu is a leading company within the mining and construction earth moving equipment industry. We are currently seeking a Officer: Maintenance Planner with B-Tech at Oranjemund and at least 4 years’ working experience
Duties
Safety,Health & Environment
- Remains up-to-date with Safety procedures
- Plans for safety events and campaigns
- Takes SHE into account in the planning of work output
- Execute Implement the Komatsu Way 5Ss - sorting, organizing, cleaning, ordering and training
- Adheres to SHE policies and procedures
- Instructs/imparts knowledge and procedures to colleagues
- Checks that subordinate staff have understood safety instructions
- Complies with and Instructs colleagues and subordinate staff in the wearing of protective gear and clothing
- Participates in workplace safety events
- Stays informed about emergency first aid kits/fire extinguishers and evacuation procedures
- Operates any company vehicle (truck, car, forklift) within safety standards and procedures, even when not supervised
- Monitor & Control Implements safety awareness in all activities
- Checks that safety signs and signals are in place
- Report Reports hazardous situations, incidents or accidents
- Provides feedback on the effectiveness of safety events
- Reports equipment that is not in good working order
Repairs and Maintenance Scheduling & Planning
- Determining Benchmark maintenance tasks and highlighting trends
- Scoping the full extent of maintenance work needed to be conducted for the relevant repair/preventive/predictive/design-out activities
- Staying abreast of contractual and Service Level requirements and planning within these parameters
- Staying abreast with Warranty conditions, policies and procedures and taking this into account when planning
- Within the guidelines of Policies & Procedures, SHE- and quality principles , planning performance targets, deadlines, outcomes, responsibilities and authorities identified for every stage and every resource involved in the process
- Collaborating with all stakeholders in order to establish needs and assess scope of work
- Obtaining inputs and gathering data from systems history in order to plan
- Forecasting of parts usage (BOM and optimize inventory holding, by liaising with internal stakeholders related to parts and inventory, pricing, availability, sourcing, product support, vetted suppliers, etc.
- Calculating base lines in terms of budget, time and human resources and stock usage
- Documenting risks and any other relevant issues, which may impact the plan
- In conjunction with process stakeholders, determining and finalizing prioritization of tasks
- Obtaining authorization for the Repair and Maintenance
- Assumes responsibility for the backup and update of all planning systems and manual data files
- Monitor & Control Flags deviations from plan and communicates with Service Management timeously
- Monitors costs and efficiencies
- Following-up on deadlines
- Assisting Service Management (Foreman, Depot
- Manager, Operations Manager) in the monitoring and allocation of resources as the approved plan rolls out (implementation)
- Report Develops and disseminates templates for use by Service lines of business in order to streamline their work
- Transfers planning and scheduling skills and knowledge to Service lines of business
- Prints reports on Maintenance Metrics, costs, efficiencies, downtime and trends
- Analyses report information, correlates information with other systems, (such as SAP and Komtrax) in order to propose changes/continuous improvement initiatives
Requisites
- B tech diploma
- 4-6 years work experience
- Valid Drivers license
- Computer literate
- OHSA
