FNB Namibia is recruiting a Legal Recoveries Collections Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To focus on recoveries from defaulting clients, including liaising with external legal advisers or liquidators and business rescue practitioners to minimize collections risks and losses in the business through the pro-active identification of issues that could result in litigation
Duties
- Overall responsibility for the recoveries team and the recoveries on the NPL book
- Provide input into the budget and manage and report on budget usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters
- Implement appropriate recovery and activation strategies to maximize the collection of arrears amounts to minimize bad debt write offs
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices in credit analysis and verification in line with the business methodology and guidelines
- Actively manage recovery efforts to ensure actions taken are in the best interest of the bank
Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialization
- Manage team performance in achievement of business objectives
Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
- Display and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity
- Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy to maximize recovery efforts
- Design and implement business unit targets for recovery strategy implementation
- Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions
- Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes, to ensure up to date practices in line with economic developments are implemented
- Manages risks in own area of responsibility
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- Creates solutions to meet customer demands to deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards
Requisites
- Have a Bachelor of Law
- 5 - 7 years Banking experience, including knowledge in credit and legal collection process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professionally qualified and experienced middle/ senior management
