Description
  • The key purpose of this role is to assist the Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager in securing a long term stable and fiscal operating business and government, network by executing the BU South Legal and Corporate Affairs strategy to support the business growth and manage legal and reputational risks associated with the business activities in Namibia. Particular focus on: Managing legal risks, Contract drafting/reviewing, Compliance management, Corporate Governance, Providing Legal Advice Implement and manage all key regulatory affairs to protect license to trade and improve reputation of the business, Research for regulatory submissions
Duties
  • Key outputs and responsibilities:
  • Assist the Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager with the following Legal duties:
  • Ensure licenses are retained for business to operate
  • Contract review and finalizing
  • Provide general legal advice on fields affecting the business
  • Risk Assessments:
  • Corporate Governance drafting of resolutions, calling of board and shareholder meetings, compiling and circulating of board packs, minuting and guiding the Board in line with Companies Act and constitutive documents
  • Assist the Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager with the following Regulatory and Public Affairs duties:
  • Track and maintain a detailed awareness of the key regulatory issues facing the Namibian business and develop strategic response s where required
  • Communicate positions on policy and regulation into risk management and stakeholder management processes
  • Develop and maintain sound and mutually beneficial relationships with relevant role players at all levels of governance
  • Engage stakeholders including NGOs, influence government policy, build awareness and educate
  • Conduct research to support the development of submissions to the relevant industry regulatory authorities
  • The LCA Graduate shall further assist the Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager with ad hoc tasks and reporting relating to communications and special Projects in line
Requisites
  • Bachelor of Laws Graduate
  • Prior work experience will be an added advantage
  • Diligent

  • MS Skills (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Ability to deal with multiple complexities
  • Ability to assimilate to a complex, competitive and rapidly changing environment
