Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Learning Support Consultant, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Assist with the co-ordination of all external training and development interventions and work integrated learning within the context of organisational goals that will contribute to company’s attainment of its objectives

Duties
- Strategy, Budgets and Costs:
- Provides input into the Training Strategy and specific training development plans in line with the HR strategy
- Provides input into the overall Budget for Training and Development programs, study assistance scheme management, and logistical training costs
- Training Needs Assessment:
- With the Manager: Learning Support and Facilitation develop actively an organisational, person and tasks analysis within the organisation to determine exact training needs for the business, the employee and the efficiency for executing a task
- Distributes approved questionnaires and documentation for the manager to comprehensively analyse employee training needs throughout the organisation
- Identifies training needs and training gaps in the organisation in a close cooperation with the HR Business Partners and line managers
- Training and Development Programs:
- Development and customisation of training interventions to ensure that there is an alignment of the outcomes of learning with the required outputs of the learners
- Development, evaluation and maintenance of a coaching, mentoring and learning support system for the approval of the manager
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Individual Development programs (IDPs)
- Development of career path development programs – succession plans and understudy programs in line with Affirmative Action
- Vetting:
- Sources Training Service Providers ensuring that such support is in line with banking service procurement policies and procedures, and compile and maintain external vendor data base
- Study Scheme Management and Maintenance:
- Executes study assistance schemes standard in line with the HR strategy and policy standard
- Evaluates each study assistance application within the policy for approval of the manger
- Receives and pre-screens study assistance applications in accordance with set selection criteria for approval of the manager
- Administration:
- Plan all training and development programs annually, compiles an annual training calendar
- Compile and apply relevant forms for the execution of training and effectiveness measurement
- Compile monthly training report and bursary management report, as well as daily amendment report on study loans
- Logistics:
- Executes planning and co-ordinates of the approved annual training calendar Assist in timeous arrangement of availability of trainees and trainers/facilitators to ensure attendance as scheduled
- Assist in booking and confirming training logistics like venues, travelling and accommodation arrangements for trainees and facilitators in line with the relevant policies and procedures
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- On instruction of the manager get information from external institutions like qualification and training authorities, Universities, learning institutions and training service providers to exchange best practices
- Self-Development:
- Keep abreast of best learning and development practices, innovations in learning, Company processes, legal requirements, operational changes, systems and procedures, methods that affect the learning content
Requisites
- Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- 5 years’ experience in a training and development environment within a banking or financial environment
- Development of training and development standards
- Training and Development principles, practices, methods and procedures
- Public speaking, Presenting and Communicating Information and Networking Skills
- Understanding design principles and best practices for effective learning media use and learner engagement
- Ability to assess usability standards for online learning products
- A code BE (08) driver’s licence is a prerequisite for this role
- Sound instructional design principals and proper utilisation of technology to enhance training content and delivery thereof
- Qualifications:
- Diploma in Training and Development or a Bachelor’s degree in HR / Industrial Psychology with main focus on training and development
- Bankers Diploma or a Banking related qualification is highly preferred
