Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Learning Facilitator: Credit /Collateral, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • The incumbent designs, develops, manages, co-ordinates and presents internal development programs and research, source and facilitates external development programs required by the various entities in the Group
  • The training may follow various modalities including presentations to large or small groups, e-learning, virtual instructor-led and interactive sessions
  • The training must follow the provisions as laid down in the Bank’s policies and procedures
  • The job holder manages and maintains training effectiveness and training records
Duties
  • Strategy and Budgets:
  • Provides input to the Training Strategy and the development of specific training development plans
  • Provides input into and assists with managing the overall Budget for Training and Development programs
  • Giving input in aligning development and training objectives to strategic business objectives
  • Giving input and active support into the continuous creation and maintenance of a learning organisation (supportive learning environment, learning processes and practices, managers reinforcing learning)
  • Give input into the policy, procedure or standard guiding internal training and development in the Bank in line with the HR strategy
  • Training Needs Assessment:
  • Develop actively an organizational, person and tasks analysis within the organisation to determine exact training needs for the business, the employee and the efficiency for executing a task
  • With the Manager Learning Facilitation, develop and maintain individual development programs (IDPs) for employees within the bank
  • Discuss the IDPs with the employee, the superior and ensure to manage authorised and signed off development plan
  • With the Manager Learning Facilitation assist with the development of career path development programs – succession plans and understudy programs in line with Affirmative Action
  • With the Manager Learning Facilitation compiles questionnaires / forms for line managers to determine specific internal training needs within their branches / departments
  • Distributes approved questionnaires and documentation for the manager to comprehensively analyse employee training needs
  • Identifies training needs and training gaps in the organisation in a close cooperation with the HR Business Partners and line managers
  • With the authority of the Manager Learning Facilitation visits Branch, Support and Business units to receive input into training needs analysis and related support
  • Within the people development team discuss results and within such team develop solutions to address training needs.
  • Compiles and analysis training evaluation (effectiveness) forms to determine further training needs determined by the employee, uses this an input to optimise training material and methods
  • Training and Development Programs:
  • Development and customisation of training interventions to ensure that there is an alignment of the outcomes of learning with the required outputs of the learners i.e., training which ensures that learners have the skills and competence required to deliver on the objectives of the company
  • Development of new and customised training / learning interventions, using training delivery best practice approaches, incorporating just-in-time learning, self-directed learning, guided application of learning (coaching) in the workplace etc
  • Development of training / learning interventions and appropriate training aids which simulate the working environment as closely as possible
  • Prepares training manuals and offerings for employees and managers and optimises training / learning material
  • Optimises the training portfolio as specialised targeted courses are offered to employees
  • Plans training and development programs in line with the budgetary requirements
  • Monitors the best practice in the training and development area and introduces it into the organisation
  • Plans and schedules interventions with the Training Delivery Team
  • Develops optimal training material and methods for supporting employees
  • Provides desk training as an added tool to learning
  • Administration:
  • Plan all training and development programs annually
  • Compile and apply relevant forms for the execution of training and effectiveness measurement
  • Compile monthly training report
  • Identify trends and report performance of programs
  • Establish learning communities using internal employee engagement platforms, monitor and support trained employees
  • Supervision of Employees:
  • Ensures effective supervision of employees is done according to exemplary leadership and HR practices
  • With the Manager Learning facilitation evaluate performance level for the reporting employees (the performance standard is developed by the manager)
  • Develops and motivates employees to achieve monthly and annual performance targets, but also effective team work and a positive team spirit
  • Assists with controlling discipline and standards within the Learning Facilitation Group of employees
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • On request and consultation assist the manager with liaising and engagement of internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-Development:
  • Keep abreast of best learning and development practices, company processes, legal requirements, operational changes, systems and procedures, methods that affect the learning content
  • Keep abreast with technological advancement in the area of training and development and continuously optimise training and development programs within budgetary means
Requisites
  • Qualification and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Bankers Diploma or a Banking or Commercial related qualification
  • Trainer, Assessor and Moderator Certificate will be an advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the banking environment with the following key experiences:
  • Credit and Collateral, Corporate or Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Specialist Finance, Customer Segments and Customer Experience, Extensive Product Knowledge, Sales and Portfolio Management, Credit and Collateral, Forex and BOPCUS and Banking Systems
  • A code BE (08) driver’s license is a prerequisite for this role
  • Knowledge of:
  • Banking processes, policies and procedures
  • In depth knowledge of Credit and Collateral, Specialist Finance, Corporate or Commercial Banking, Retail Banking,
  • Customer Segments and Customer Experience, Extensive Product Knowledge, Sales and Portfolio Management, Forex and BOPCUS and Banking Systems
  • Training and Development principles, practices, methods and procedures
  • Adult learning theory and application
  • Developing critical soft and managerial skills
  • Needs assessments methods
  • Managing a small team
  • Design principles and best practices for effective learning media use and learner engagement
  • Usability standards for online learning products
  • Sound instructional design principals and proper utilisation of technology to enhance training content and delivery thereof
  • Effective practices around change management

  • Current and emerging learning technology trends and tools
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Products
