Junior Technical Advisor / Capacity Building

Description

• The successful incumbent will be based in Windhoek and report to the Manager: ProVision

Duties

• Support the production of training materials
• Research and learn about unfamiliar subject matters
• Present training courses confidently
• Provide technical support for training services
• Help secure, participate in and provide technical support for consultancies
• Help secure, participate in and provide technical support for advisory and other services
• Participate in research projects at a professional and technical level
• Conducting qualitative or quantitative surveys, which may involve field, interview or focus group assessments
• Analysing and interpreting data
• Represent Agra ProVision at events such as farmers meetings, conferences, workshops
• Assist with producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations
• Monitoring the progress of projects
• Reporting on activities, progress and evaluations/findings to the Supervisor on a frequent basis
• Formulating plans / proposal and presenting to clients or senior management
• Writing detailed reports and presenting results

Requisites

• Namibian citizenship
• A tertiary level qualification at in the fields of Agriculture, Natural Resources or Plant Production
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing and presenting training courses in the agricultural sector and/or business management experience and/or entrepreneurship/incubation development
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office packages and/or other relevant software)
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Confident presentation skills and ability to adjust communications to different audiences
• Experience in designing, planning, budgeting, organizing and evaluating training programmes
• A valid driver’s license
• Competence in at least one agricultural sector, i.e.: Rangeland, Horticulture, Animal Health, Farm Infrastructure, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry. Must be willing and able to travel
