Accor is recruiting an IT Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To manage and operate effectively the daily operations of the hotel’s information technology and telecommunications
- This is a "hands-on" position, serving as both an individual contributor, and a manager of internal and external resources, to meet the position's responsibilities
Duties
- Planning & implementation of technology-related processes, systems, telecommunications
- Maintenance of I.T. systems, management of software & hardware, ensuring 24-hour coverage for hotel via procedures, analysis & resolution of system questions & problems
- Analyze software/hardware problems to detect/correct deficiencies, malfunctions and irregularities
- Ensuring reliable data back-up and emergency recovery operations are in place to maintain data security
- Assist with selection and implementation of new system related materials for proper integration and interoperability
- Manage contracts with I.T. vendors, consultants, service providers, & review maintenance contracts to ensure accuracy & project completion
- Report status of I.T. & Telecommunications operations/progress to Director of Finance and Business Support
- Review technology-related operations/equipment to ensure efficiency, productivity
- Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge and records of all system changes, updates, enhancements
- Evaluate and define hotel and user requirements to determine feasibility of purchasing requested enhancements
- Installation of software/hardware upgrades in compliance with ACCOR corporate policies & legal requirements
- Oversee team of IT Technicians from all managerial and developmental aspects
- Prioritization of user department workflow, recommending procedural changes
- Focus on future business needs and profitability
- Develop training programs; to increase user knowledge of systems, foster use of systems to ensure high degree of computer proficiency
- Coordinate system projects from initial configuration of systems, project releases, ordering, shipping, electrical and cable requirements to installation, testing, training, cutover & support
- Analyze issues to ensure maximization of revenue, control of costs associated with generating telephone revenue
- Ensure compliance with established procedures, systems security, contingency plans, internal controls and standards
- Schedule routine, preventative maintenance, daily clerical functions regarding integrity of computer systems
- Providing thoughtful leadership on operational strategy and processes within the overall business strategy
- Establishing and evangelizing service level offerings and agreements
- Other duties as assigned
Requisites

- Strong technical background, with specific requirements as follows:
- Detailed knowledge of operating systems
- Detailed knowledge in management & operations of PMS
- PABX/Voicemail/Call Accounting, HRIS, Sales & Catering
- Telecommunications knowledge and experience, including VOIP and videoconferencing
- Network architecture and systems design knowledge and experience
- 2 - 3 years experience in an IT supervisory/management role in a fast-paced luxury hotel/conference environment
- Certification or equivalent experience in one of more of the following
- Familiarity with Audio/Visual systems an asset
