Kelp Blue is recruiting an Inventory Officer, to be based in Lüderitz, Namibia.
Description
- As an Inventory Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining precise control over inventory, recording stock materials within the warehouse, conducting inventory inspections at contractor sites and assembling areas, and arranging material and equipment records and quantification for our operations in Lüderitz
- Additionally, this role will be responsible for overseeing logistical arrangements for goods between and from warehouses, suppliers and the operational team
Duties
- Regularly record and monitor inventory levels in the warehouse to prevent loss of items and maintain sufficient stock levels
- Update permits, certifications, and licenses for all assets across departments
- Conduct detailed inventory inspections at contractor sites and assembling areas, ensuring accuracy
and completeness of delivered orders and recording daily/weekly quantities
- Maintain accurate material and equipment records and provide quantification for project planning and execution as well as during annual audit exercises
- Oversee all administrative work for the maintenance team, including records of pyrotechnics, consumables, equipment, and tools
- Control the distribution of PPE, where all issued PPE is registered per person
- Manage maintenance planning of all assets, including vessels, cars, and buildings
- Arrange and coordinate logistical arrangements for goods from suppliers to ensure timely delivery and stock replenishment
- Identify discrepancies or shortages in stock and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain an organized and safe warehouse environment, ensuring materials and equipment are stored in designated locations
- Prepare and update inventory reports, tracking data on a regular basis, and communicate findings to relevant departments
- Assist with the ordering and receiving of materials to maintain stock levels and meet project requirements
- Utilize inventory management software to accurately record and track inventory movements
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Oversee logistical arrangements for goods between and from warehouses, suppliers and the operational team
Requisites
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics and Transport/ Inventory Management/ Warehouse Management, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Proven experience in inventory control, logistics, or related roles
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of inventory control and logistical best practices and techniques
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Forklift operation and safety certification (preferred but not required)
