ICT Software Developer

Description

• The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software systems that meet the needs of business operations and strategic goals
• Provide support of company business system (SAP). The incumbent reports directly to the SAP Analyst

Duties

• Responds to user requests on specific problems and checks through the various stages of the application to identify the nature of the problem
• Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs
• Developing diagrams and models based on UML and BPMN
• Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
• Testing and evaluating programs
• Integrate software components and third-party programs
• Gather user requirement and evaluate user feedback
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Provide first hand functional support on SAP (All Modules)
•  Develop software applications using modern, object orientated programming languages
• Support and develop on SharePoint
• Designing and implementing high performance database solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing in-house systems
• Developing quality assurance procedures
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Provide basic support on Microsoft server and workstation operating systems
• Supports and creates sound working relationships with co-workers / team members to resolve problems
• Active participation and contribution towards effective working relationships
• Discusses and set objectives to improve relationships with co-workers

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Software Development, Management Information Systems (NQF level 7) or related field of study
• One (1) year industrial experience in Software Development and System Analysis
• Driving licence code B
• Required Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
• Programming Languages: PHP, C#, ASP.Net, CSS, HTML, JavaScript
• Software Development Lifecycle models and methodologies
• Ability to establish and maintain co-operative working relations
• Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies
• Knowledge in Database design and modelling
• SQL Server Database
• Knowledge in software Version control
• Diagnostic skills
• Problem solving skills
• Interpersonal Skills
• Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Project management skills
