Swakop Uranium is recruiting a HR Business Partner, to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
- The main purpose of the HR Business Partner is to act in direct partnership with business and functional leads to maximise performance and potential, and support the department in the delivery of objectives by ensuring the delivery of HR services
Duties
- Consult with the Line Management to gain an in depth understanding of the business needs by attending key operational meetings
- Focus on strategic business issues regarding growth and competitiveness and taking a big picture perspective regarding organization’s priorities and goals
- Continuously identify unique HR business requirements and diagnose possible people management challenges
- Actively promote, support and advise on the use of HR systems and adherence to policies and processes
- Liaise with specialist HR sections on matters related to their expertise in order to provide sound advice to line
- Ensure business unit compliance to all labour practices, procedures and policies
- Attend to grievances and escalate grievance appeals to Employee relations Office
- Assist Line in initiating disciplinary action and ensure that these are attended to and resolved timeously
- Partner with the Specialist HR functions in implementing HR plans, projects and initiatives
- Actively identify risks and possible gaps, and propose mitigating actions where appropriate and implement necessary actions
- Ensure the effective implementation of employment equity targets and objectives by the business unit assigned to and Line Management specifically
Requisites
- Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects
- Bachelor / BTech degree in Human Resources or Appropriate Social Science or Equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in the relevant field will be an added advantage
- 6 years’ experience in an HR Generalist function / environment of which 2 years should be in a supervisory role
- Prior experience in project management would be an added advantage
- Sound general knowledge of the mining industry
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulatory framework
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and HR systems
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License
