Daures Green Hydrogen is recruiting a Health and Safety Officer, to be based in Erongo Region, Namibia.
Description
- Purpose of Position: The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for the implementation of Health and Safety Policies and Standards for the Daures Green Hydrogen Village. The Health and Safety Officer will liaise between various functions and stakeholders in spearheading and championing issues around Health and Safety. In addition to this the Health and Safety Officer will need to consistently ensure and support in enforcing compliance amongst staff, contractors and visitors on site
Requisites
- Competency and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification and a SAMTRAC qualification in HSSE discipline is preferred, alternatively a
Safety Related Qualification
- HSSE Knowledge with at least 3-5 years of construction or mining experience
- Strong Communication (Written & Verbal) & negotiating skills
- Experience of carrying out basic HSSE training e.g. HSSE Induction, Use of basic safety equipment
- Developing safety procedures and practices
- Must have working knowledge in English and be able to communicate with less-literate staff
- Ensure Safety Audits are passed
- Ensuring safety compliance on the floor as well as auditing safety compliance
- Check if PPE are worn correctly
- Compiling task specific risk assessment for new tasks
- Conduct incident and accidents investigation
- Make recommendation according to the trends that may lead to incidents
- Give lawful advice and instructions to workforce
- Keep records of all statistics to establish trend
- Preference to Namibian citizens from the Daures Constituency
- Preference for Women and Previously Disadvantaged Persons
