Nedbank is recruiting a Head: Strategy, Business Development & Research, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To provide strategic thought leadership to the Cluster by providing management information for the development and execution of strategy, managing strategic projects, and providing a risk management function to achieve Nedbank's strategic goals
Duties
  • Ensure alignment and achievement of Nedbank strategy and create a competitive advantage by translating the Nedbank strategy into Cluster strategy implications
  • Facilitate NNH cluster strategic planning by setting clear objectives for gathering cluster Exco views and prioritize for a 3-year cycle
  • Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy, create a competitive advantage and improve the brand of the Strategy by translating the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customized Divisional strategy
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations
  • Plan and implement effective ways to cascade and communicate the cluster strategy and strategic initiatives within the NNH Cluster
  • Create new business initiatives and expand current channels by identifying opportunities through market and competitor analysis; recommending innovative ideas for services
  • Provide relevant business intelligence to the NNH Cluster through proactive sourcing, analyzing and interpretation of data
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement and knowledge sharing
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through participation in industry bodies, Nedbank committees and forums
  • Champion the execution of strategic projects in the Cluster through programme management
  • Manage risk by providing input to policy and procedure formulation, issuing guidelines, participating in interpretation of legislation and proactively managing changes on an on-going basis
Requisites
  • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
  • Preferred Qualification:
  • Relevant professional qualification: Honors Degree in Business Administration, Economics or related Commercial field
  • Minimum Experience Level:
  • 5 (five) years minimum Management experience
  • A Master’s in Business administration would be an added advantage
  • Experience in banking and/or financial services industry an advantage
