GIPF is recruiting a Head Social Services Consultant, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To develop, implement and manage a social work support and problem-solving environment
Duties
- Manage the social conflicts and circumstances arising from the pension fund environment in a diverse cultural and social context
- Develop a network of social work cooperation at community level
- Develop and maintain a social services environment to deal with client issues
- Manage social services, plan and manage unit budget
- Build database with contacts/clients listed and findings obtained as per agreed format
- Manage human resources/improve social services efficiency and effectiveness
- Build and maintain networks with relevant stakeholders
- Do social investigations and co-ordinate the social circumstances advice, support and guidance
- Co-ordinate and provide pre and post counselling services for pensioners and client tracing services
Requisites
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Social work/ Clinical Psychology from a recognized institution
- Five (5) years working experience
- Three (3) years working experience as a social worker
- Code 08 driver’s licence
- Registered with the Namibian Health Council as a practitioner
- Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of: Counselling techniques, cultural diversity, indigenous languages, life skills and effectiveness principles, psychology of old age
- Social theory, statistical analysis, financial management and budgeting, strategic planning and client wellness
- Skill: Advising, counselling skills, complaints resolution, customer services, decision making, evaluation and feedback, interpersonal. Networking, negotiation, problem solving, report writing, time management, training/coaching and supervisory skills
- Personal Attributes: assertive, approachable, helpful, service orientated, emotionally mature, confidentiality, integrity, honest, high stress tolerance, patient and cultural sensitivity
