Bokomo is recruiting a Head: SHEQ, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent will be required to:
Duties
  • Develop and Implement Food Quality Strategies that provides unrivalled quality assurance on all manufactured products
  • Determine the strategic direction and work priorities for the continuous improvement SHEQ documentation and food safety management programs and systems
  • Produce and coordinate the yearly SHEQ action plan on longer term SHEQ roadmap
  • Manage end to end quality process including but not limited to testing swabbing, baking, sample taking, auditing and investigation, review and responding to customer complaints
  • Implementation of preventative and control measures throughout the entire operational process in line with Food Safety HACCP/ISO 22000 standards
  • Review and interpret results received from onsite laboratory and external laboratories, including baking test results for accuracy and reasonability. Design and coordinate the implementation of action plans
  • Advise line management and assist with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ related legislation, Rules and Company standards
  • Conduct internal and assisted external SHEQ audits within business, customer and accreditation standards
  • Provide leadership for Quality Management System Internal audits
  • Review monthly QMS findings and follow up on corrective actions
  • Ensure manufacturing and relevant licenses are correct and up to date and coordinate registrar audits
  • Ensure that sites are compliant with Occupational Health and Safety
  • Coordinate the Investigation of SHE incidents and review reports for submission to relevant parties
  • Draft and review risk assessments for all High Risk Activities
  • Prepare monthly reports of SHEQ departments
  • Manage and Control Cost Center in line with cost budget
  • Comply with all legal requirements pertaining to Food Safety and Health & Safety
Requisites
  • A Degree and/or Diploma in Food Science / Food Technology or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a SHEQ Management Role
  • At least 6 – 8 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing / food processing and or FMCG environment
  • Practical experience in the implementation of a BRC and or ISO 22 000 / HACCP quality assurance system
  • Must be a current member with a recognised professional organisation for Food Technologists
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal relation skills
