Head, Governance & Company Secretary

Duties

• To lead the legal entity/s Corporate Governance Strategy & Company Secretarial Function within a Country on all governance advisory matters to ensure compliance in relation to best practices on all legislative and regulatory matters

Requisites

• Degree in Finance and Accounting/Legal
• Post Graduate Degree in Legal
• Qualified Governance Professional certification would be beneficial for this job or Chartered Accountant
• 3-4 years experience in Legal function - demonstrated ability to embed Legal and Risk Management processes as required by relevant regulatory requirements, applicable codes of conduct and the minimum standards.
• More than 10 years experience in Governance - The role requires a seasoned individual with a minimum of 10 years post-graduation experience within the Financial Services Industry with at least 5 years senior management level. Ability to provide guidance to senior and executive leaders and board members on provisions of the law and other regulations. Ability to understand business operations and opportunities within the law

• Knowledge and understanding of costing, budgeting and finance concepts and the understanding and application of related processes and procedures

• The ability to assess governance and control frameworks against the appropriate risk appetite and enhance the risk management culture in line with the organizational objectives
• Strategic Planning and Reporting
