Nedbank is recruiting a Head : Finance, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To lead a team responsible for the management and analysis of all financial activities; make recommendations in line with Nedbank strategy to enable the business to make informed financial decisions
Duties
- Ensure that the Statutory, Management and Financial reporting process is established, is effective and delivers the required reports
- Review and approve:
- Financial reporting packs to Nedbank South Africa
- Income tax and indirect taxes
- Annual Financial Statements
- Establish and review controls and systems to manage operational risks
- Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of policies, systems and processes
- EXCO and Board presentations
- Manage Balance Sheet Management function:
- Oversee the compilation of the ALCO pack and ALCO submissions to Board
- Ensure capital, liquidity and interest rate risk tolerances are optimized, approved and monitored
- Strategic liquidity risk management, including monitoring the liquidity & funding, identification & mitigation of concentration risk, maintenance of Liquidity Models & related assumptions
- Strategic capital management & optimization of the bank, including compilation & monitoring of the capital plan, capital structuring, capital allocation, motivate, and oversee capital raising
- Management, coordination and compilation of annual ICAAP & Recovery Plan reports, championing these across the bank and into ALCO, EXCO and Board levels
- This includes overseeing stress testing of capital, liquidity and operational risk
- Maintain and update all charters and related policies under finance and ensure implementation of and compliance to those policies
- Manage the regulatory reporting function to BON and SARB (through Nedbank Group), including the management of regulator stakeholder relationships
- Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by overseeing the annual budgeting process and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned
- Oversee the funds transfer pricing process
Requisites
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Educational Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (Namibia) / (South Africa) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Minimum Experience Level:
- Minimum: 5 (five) years Senior Management experience in the Financial industry, especially banking experience will be a distinct advantage
