Dundee Precious Metals is recruiting a Graduate Metallurgist, to be based in Tsumeb, Namibia.
Description
- As part of the company’s Graduate Development Programme, the Graduate Metallurgist will be exposed to various areas within metallurgical process technologies, such as Pyrometallurgy, Metallurgical Acid Plant, Minerals Processing, Oxygen Production and Water Treatment
- After successful completion of the Graduate Development Programme the incumbent will have the necessary skills and experience to transition into Plant Metallurgist roles
Duties
- Legal, safety, health and environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety culture in the areas of responsibility
- Lead by example through living the company purpose and values
- All Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb processing plants (Furnaces, Sulfuric Acid
- Plant, Oxygen Plant, Milling and Floatation Plant, Crushing Plant, Power Plant and Utilities)
- Process simulation, troubleshooting, reporting and presentation
- Supervisory and management
- Material control, budgeting, and cost accounting
- Metal accounting and production planning
Requisites
- Bachelor of Engineering/Science/Technology in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Plant Simulation Software will be an advantage
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) will be an advantage
- Namibian Citizenship or permanent residence
- Strong decision making, leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Prepared to work overtime, shift work and perform standby duties
- Code B Drivers’ License
