CENORED is recruiting a Graduate: Assistant Electrician Metering and Revenue Protection, to be based in Otjiwarongo, Namibia.
Description
- The incumbent will report directly to the Electrician Metering and Revenue Protection, and needs to carry out the operations, maintenance and installation requirements as assigned by Engineering department
- DURATION: One Year Contract
Duties
- Assist install, repair and maintain metering infrastructure according to standard procedures
- Assist for the co-ordination of work
- Assist to carry out installation of electrical equipment
- Assist to trace and report by-passes within CENORED operating area
- Assist with full completion of meter installation form
- Ensure that the work area always conforms to corporate job safety and good housekeeping standards
- Attend training as per PDP scheduled programs
- Maintain effective communication channels amongst staff
- Perform any other duties as required by supervisor from time to time
- Provide basic weekly and monthly reports in writing on tasks completed
Requisites
- Equivalent of a present level 2 (former N2) in vocational training-electrical engineering
- Experience in low voltage (400 V) and medium voltage (11kV to 33kV) must be fully substantiated for at least 1 year
- At least 1-year practical experience
- Must be medically fit to work outside and in a construction environment
- Must not be acrophobic (being afraid of heights)
- Good English and report writing skills
- Knowledge in other indigenous languages may serve as an advantage
- Computer literacy will be an advantage
- Good customer and employee service driven
- Be able to commission work independently
- Customer/Employee service driven
- B driver’s licence will be advantage
- Familiar with statutory requirements on safety and health
