Wilderness is recruiting a Flight Training Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • The Flight Training Manager is responsible to provide the safe training of Pilots and and all other operational staff as well as establish and modify procedures in the Flight Operations Manual D (Training Manual) to assure regulatory compliance with NCAA’s standard operating procedure
  • The Flight Training Manager coordinates the scheduling and accomplishment of all Line Checks, Proficiency Checks, and required Flight and Ground Training to promote best practice to ensure that Crew and all operational staff achieve the company goals and objectives associated with safety, security, reliability, operational efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction
Duties
  • Ensuring that all flight and operational staff training activities undertaken by Wilderness Air are carried out in accordance with the Flight Operations Manuals and in terms of the applicable requirements prescribed by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Wilderness Air, Air Service License
  • Responsible for the full and effective control of the Wilderness Air Flight and Ground Training Program which includes but not limited to, the safe, efficient, legal and correct conduct of all initial, recurrent and transition flight training
  • Maintaining the highest quality of flight and Ground training instruction to ensure best results
  • Completing all training records accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that the policies and procedures of the General Operations and Training Manuals are complied with
  • Maintaining a high level of currency in the aviation sector by applying training methods and techniques, as well as audio-visual technology for the comprehension of all crew, within the budgetary constraints
  • Taking a role in the company indoctrination program to ensure all new flight crew and all operational staff members have received initial training required for their job responsibilities
  • Managing direct staff members (Training Captains), to include performance and disciplinary issues, recognition awards, etc. in accordance with the established course of employment processes and procedures
Requisites
  • Qualifications:
  • Must have a Minimum of 1600 Hours Total Flying Time
  • Must have a Minimum of 150 hours of Instruction as a grade III or II
  • Must be rated on all Aircraft types operated by Wilderness Air Namibia
  • Previous Experience within the Wilderness Air Training Department is desirable
  • Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of the organization (e.g. training management, aircraft operations)
  • Aviation instructional or training experience
  • Sound knowledge of Training Department Principles and Practices
  • Competencies:
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and develop relationships
  • Basic understanding of flight crew qualifications
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal
  • Communication skills (written, oral and facilitation presentations)
