Financial Manager : Entry Level Market

Description

• The individual will have the responsibility for the Entry level, Bancassurance & Employee benefit schemes market management and statutory reporting, and will have significant involvement in preparation and submission of the group’s financial results
• The role will report to the Senior Financial Manager: Life Market

Duties

• Analysis, preparation and compilation of monthly management and statutory reporting of Entry level, Bancassurance & Employee benefit schemes’s operations and results
• Preparing Annual Financial statements and interim reports
• Ensure Entry level, Bancassurance & Employee benefit schemes reporting is compliant with regulatory requirements in terms of IFRS, Companies Act
• Prepares and collates monthly key financial indicators report
• Provides sales support to the Entry level market business
• Prepares and assists in financial budgeting and forecasting
• Assist with annual audits (external and internal audits)
• Compile and implement controls and procedures in line with group financial reporting framework
• Preparation of and assistance with Quarterly Board submissions.
• Manage monthly trial balance and adjusting journals (including Actual vs Budget comparisons and analyses)

Requisites

• Qualifications and Experience:
• Post graduate qualification in the accounting field (BCompt Degree or equivalent)
• At least 3 - 5 years working experience post articles in a financial environment
• Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of IFRS, companies act and other legislation applicable to the financial services industry
• Excellent English (verbal & written) language skills; and/or additional local Namibian language will be a competitive advantage
• Highly developed mathematical and/or statistical skills
• Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills
