Erongo Marine is hiring a Financial Director, in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

- The position of Financial Director is vacant at Erongo Marine Enterprise Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of the Oceana Group, operating in the Namibian Hose Mackerel industry. The position is based at the Erongo Marine offices in Walvis Bay, and reports directly to the Erongo Marine Managing Director with dotted line to Group Finance
- The purpose of this role is the day-to-day responsibility of the financial activities of the business operations, to provide oversight and direction as well as to provide input into the strategic and policy frameworks that will enhance the operation’s financial sustainability, ensure the implementation thereof, as well as oversee compliance to all statutory compliances and good accounting practices
Duties
- Management of financial reporting, tax, foreign exchange, business planning including capital management, funding requirements, performance reporting, supply chain, contracts, insurance and risk management functions
- Develop and manage a self-sufficient in-house operational financial team to manage the operational reporting at EME
- Develop financial policies, procedures, and processes in line with current legislation that ensures overall compliance, whilst also aligning with the Oceana Group’s approved policies, procedures, and processes
- Overall responsibility for compliance as per good corporate governance including internal controls
- Coordination of monthly and annual financial, management and statutory reporting, inclusive of all operational statistics
- Coordination of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Coordination of business systems support and development
- Responsible for commercial and financial aspects of any ad hoc projects, feasibility studies and capital expenditure requirements
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic plan to support the long-term sustainability of the business and Group to ensure after-tax profitability and the overall working capital and cash flow position is managed and maintained
- Management of annual internal and external audit processes
- Monitoring of the overall NEEEB scorecard status
- Liaise with the external stakeholders on any financial related statutory requirements
- Reporting to the Board and actively liaising with Group
Requisites
- Finance Qualification with Masters, CA (NAM), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably FMCG or Manufacturing Environment
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing a team of people in a finance department
- Executive with experience in Board reporting
- High degree of technical accounting and tax knowledge
- Knowledge of SAP ERP system would be an advantage
- Good business acumen
